More Than a Feeling: What's Love Got to Do With It?

1 John 4:7-11
1 Corinthians 13

The word love is often contorted in to feeling.
love != lust

God’s love (ἀγάπη) has little to nothing to do with emotion.

God does not have to have hope.
He does not have to have faith.
He is love.

“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:8

God = love = long suffering = kind

We tend to equate love with how we’ve been loved.

“…love does not envy” == God does not envy
“…love…is not provoked…” == God is not provoked
“Love never fails.” == God never fails.

Moses intended to enter the Promised Land but he let others get to him.

God created evil. Evil itself isn’t bad. It is required. It is necessary. Without the negative, the good means nothing and carries no weight.
